Race Results

I've decided that I need to get my race results in some sort of workable table or something. Here's my first attempt:

Recent Events

I've been swept up in RAAM fever. I'm on a team with a few other people from the Tri Club planning on doing RAAM '08. We need sponsors, and then we'd have to train big-time for this event. We're in a mad scramble to line the sponsors up in the next couple months as the deadline for the lower cost entry fee is December 15th.

I got the Merlin the other week, and with a few tweaks, it's a sick ride. Full titanium, carbon fork, seat tube and other little amenities. Wheelset is Real Designs Ultrasphere, which weigh in at a cool 1365 grams a pair. It's damn light. I'm training on other wheels, because the Real Designs are a little fragile for use in the dark predawn streets of DC. Gonna be spending a lot more time on a trainer in coming months--so the streets and their potholes won't matter...

'07 pic number one

Here I am after the Bay Country Century. Note shaven legs.

Posting #1

With my sights on some significant athletic contests/goals in the next year, I decided it was time to start blogging. Don't think I'm doing it for more than a record for myself to look back on, but you never know where things will go.

A little under a year from now, barring disaster, I'll be through with IronMan Wisconsin, my first ultra-distance triathlon. Between now and then, lots of training, and perhaps a legendary/epic event that for now, will have to be a secret...

I should take stock of where I am right now.

1. Waiting on my new Merlin
2. Trying to kick a nagging case of plantar fasciitis
3. In great biking shape, particularly for hill climbing
4. Trying to figure out how I'll get all the training done next year AND have a life
5. Wondering if anyone will be interested in reading yet another blog about training

Maybe I'll post some pictures of the '07 season for entertainment value and to keep you all satisfied.
